Name: Christine Cauthen
Church: New Covenant Bibleway Church
Risk Factors: High Blood Pressure / Borderline Diabetes

Her Story:

Christine Cauthen’s weight had gotten to 209 pounds, so when Village HeartBEAT came to her place of worship — New Covenant Bibleway Church — she leaped at the opportunity to get involved.

In addition to her weight, Cauthen suffers from high blood pressure and was told by her doctor that she is a borderline diabetic, which runs in her family. To address those risk factors, she now works out four days a week and is eating healthier meals — baked chicken and vegetables — and has completely eliminated fried foods.

All of which she credits to Village HearBEAT.

Cauthen has a twin sister who weighs 108 pounds — a slimmer, trimmer look she’d like to see in her own mirror. So far, Cauthen is down to 181 pounds and striving to reach 175 by the time the program ends.

At a recent doctor visit, Cauthen was informed that she is no longer borderline diabetic.

Her Advice:

Heed your doctor’s warnings, and love yourself by taking care of yourself.
