Police are investigating an early morning shooting in northwest Charlotte that left one man dead. Authorities did not release the victim’s name pending notification of family member.
CMPD received the call at 5:18 a.m. Thursday about a shooting in the 1200 block of Helms Road, which is north of Mt. Holly Road, near the Interstate 485 loop. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Detectives from the homicide unit were canvassing the area looking for witnesses.
