Police are investigating a fatal crash on Brookshire Boulevard that left one person dead. The incident was reported just before 3 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection with Interstate 485.
When officers arrived, they found a Nissan Maxima that had rear-ended a 1995 Kenworth dump truck. The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was later identified as Sebastian Lamar Jackson, 45.
The driver and passenger of the dump truck were not injured.
Investigators said speed and alcohol were contributing factors for driver Nissan driver.
