You better ask somebody! If you’re not familiar with Poplar Street Cafe & Wine Bar, let me give you a heads up. The trendy new hot spot opened March 7 and has hit the ground running.
I stopped by Tuesday for a bite to eat and a tour of the lovely Victorian home that houses the restaurant in historic Fourth Ward. I consider myself a grill cheese connoisseur, and the grilled cheese pear sandwich was delicious. And the fruit parfait with a creamy mousse was a treat.
Next time you’re on the town, I suggest you stop in.

The Impressions ~ A Sign Of The Times of the Carolinas presents its 16th annual black history production — “Who Are You – Are You Making A Difference?” featuring the world-famous vocal group “The Impressions.” Best known for their 1960s string of hits, many of which served as inspirational anthems for the Civil Rights Movement, The Impressions are 1998 Grammy Hall of Fame inductees for their hit “People Get Ready.” Pease Auditorium (1206 Elizabeth Avenue) on the campus of CPCC. Ms. Encore Couture Full Size Pageant ~ This Katrice Thompkins productions is all about empowering women from within, and transforming their inner beauty to outer beauty. This event will include a full-figure pageant and fashion extravaganza. A portion of the proceeds will benefit a Multiple Sclerosis non-profit organization.
