Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a deadly shooting early Monday near the Park Fairfax Apartments in west Charlotte.
At 2:43 a.m., officers were called to assist paramedics the 100 block of Park Fairfax Drive, near Freedom Drove. When they arrived, they were unable to locate anyone in need of assistance and cleared the scene after speaking with several residents.
A short time later, officers were called to Carolinas Medical Center, where a man had been driven to the emergency room suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Doctors later pronounced him dead.
CMPD withheld the man’s man pending family notification.
Police were canvassing the Park Fairfax Apartments looking for additional witnesses.
