Have a taste for chicken and waffles? I know a spot that serves the best fried chicken and waffles in Charlotte!
Several weeks ago I mentioned the new jazz spot BluNotes in the University area and how disappointed I was with my first visit. I’m certainly a forgiving person, so I attended a brunch there this past week. Well, let me be the first to tell you the chicken and sweet potato waffles are delicious. Sorry folks, but Midnight Diner can’t hold a torch to this dish. Chef Derrick Gooden, you rock!
Oh, yes, BluNotes now has glassware and plates, too!
I also caught the Christmas musical, “A Soulful Noel.” Quentin Talley certainly outdid himself with this sold-out performance. This definitely wasn’t your grandma’s holiday concert. Did I mention that Quentin blew away the cast with his James Brown split? If you missed it, you can go online to buy the CD. Proceeds benefit the performers and OnQ Performing Arts.
