Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a shooting in east Charlotte that left a woman dead.
The victim was identified as Angel Marie Carlton, 35.
Police later arrested Montez Stephon McLaurin, 18, and charged him with murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
The shooting was reported at 10:22 p.m. Wednesday in the 4800 block of Shamrock Drive. When officers arrived, the found the female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
A CMPD spokeswoman said the shooting was not a random act.
