A 58-year-old man died Wednesday in a three-vehicle crash in south Charlotte, just north of the state line with South Carolina.

Police identified the man as Robert Anthony King.

According to CMPD’s initial report, King was driving a 2010 Nissan Rogue in the 13700 block of Lancaster Highway when his vehicle crossed the center line and sideswiped a 2010 Cadillac Escalade. The Nissan Rogue then struck a 2007 Dodge Ram pick-up truck head-on.

King was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

No one else was seriously injured.
