Police are investigating a shooting just east of uptown Charlotte that left a man dead.
The victim was identified as Jerome Oneil Blakely, 31.
The shooting was reported at 4:48 p.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of Seigle Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He died while enroute to Carolinas Medical Center.
