Charlotte-Mecklenburg police on Wednesday arrested a man suspected of firing shots thought the front door of a convenience store on Independence Boulevard.
Police identified the suspect as Keventz Harris, 19.
According to an initial police report, Harris was inside the store around 2 p.m. Wednesday when he was confronted by a clerk who suspected him of trying to steal an item. The suspect left the store, drew a handgun and fired several shots through the front door before running away.
Harris was arrested based on a description of the suspect broadcast by police. A CMPD spokeswoman said arresting officers recovered a gun.
Harris was charged with common law robbery, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon, four counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling and shooting in the city limits.
