Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were investigating a killing late Wednesday inside an apartment in southeast Charlotte near Independence Boulevard.
The shooting was reported at about 9:15 p.m. in the 7300 block of Creekwood Quorum Drive.
The victim, 23-year-old Corey Bryce Davner, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said the shooter and the victim knew one another, but authorities did not describe the nature of their association.
