Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested five motorists on charges of driving while impaired during an overnight checkpoint on East Seventh Street. The checkpoint ended at 2:30 p.m. Friday morning.

CMPD also charged five motorists with driving with suspended licenses, and one was charged with illegal possession of drugs.

Other charges included:

  • Other Traffic Charges – 9

In total, 22 charges were filed.
