Police are investigating a shooting in West Charlotte that left one man dead and a second injured. The shooting was reported late Saturday inside a residence in the 3800 block of Davis Avenue, just north of Wilkinson Boulevard in west Charlotte.

Killed in the shooting was 29-year-old Robert Griffin.

Police later arrested the second man, Montreal Forman, 25, and charged him with murder. A CMPD spokesman said detectives believe the shooting was sparked by an altercation between Griffin and Forman.

Forman was arrested and charged after he was released from a hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound. Police did not make clear how Forman suffered that injury.

The shooting was reported at 11:10 p.m. Saturday. Police said several young children were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but none was injured.

As of early Sunday, a second suspect was being sought for questioning.
