A 16-year-old boy was arrested Monday and charged with robbing a woman at gunpoint and stealing her car.

The suspect, Timothy Lee Green Jr., was booked in the Mecklenburg jail.

According to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report, the suspect confronted the victim just before 11 p.m. as she was getting into her car in the 8300 block of Riverbirch Drive, in southwest Charlotte, and demanded her keys and additional property.

Officers located the car, occupied by the suspect and a second person, near South Boulevard and Remount Road. The driver refused to stop, and police gave chase, at one point deploying stop sticks near N. Sharon Amity and East W. T. Harris Boulevard. A short distance later, the driver crashed near a wooded area.

Police used dogs and helicopters to locate and arrest Green, but the second suspect escaped.

Green was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of motor vehicle, resisting a public officer, felony flee to elude, and misdemeanor traffic offenses for speeding and careless/reckless driving.
