Charlotte-Mecklenburg police announced the arrest of a man in the shooting death of 23-year-old Alexia Mayfield.
The suspect, Immanuel Felton, 25, was located Saturday and taken to police headquarters for questioning. He was subsequently charged with murder and booked in the Mecklenburg County jail.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a Friday night homicide in an apartment complex near West Boulevard.
Authorities identified the victim as Alexia Mayfield , 23.
The shooting was reported at 9:28 p.m. in the 1300 block of Nobles Avenue, just east of airport.
When officers arrived at the Little Rock Apartments, they found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot would. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
