Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were investigating a shooting early Wednesday that left one person dead and another injured.
The incident began shortly after midnight when officers were called to investigate a reported disturbance at a home in the 6100 block of Coolbrook Court in the southwest Charlotte. A man inside the residence told officers he did not need assistance, and the officers found no one else inside he home who needed assistance, according to a CMPD spokesman.
Less than an hour later, officers were called to the 300 block of Archdale Drive in south Charlotte, where they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
A short time later, police were called back to the home on Coolbrook Court, where they found a man dead from a gunshot wound. He was identified as Terrence White, 23.
According to the CMPD spokesman, investigators believe the male and female were both shot inside the home on Coolbrook Court. The female was taken by an acquaintance to Archdale Drive, where they called 911.
