The 2014 Urban League Annual Whitney M. Young Jr. Awards Gala is one of the premiere fundraising events in Charlotte and surrounding region. This black tie event spotlights those area champions who have invested their time, talent and treasure in developing this community’s workforce to help create new opportunities for underserved and underemployed individuals. All proceeds from the gala go directly to programs and services of the Urban League such as the nationally reknowned HVAC Certification program, the Jacob’s LAdder Job Readiness program, the flagshipp TECH-Best program and the cutting edge Fiber Optics/Broadband program. All of the Urban League programs are offered free of charge to the underemployed and unemployed.
