Mecklenburg County Bar’s conference to increase diversity in the legal profession is now set for Saturday, March 15.
Now in its ninth year, Diversity Day helps to introduce minority students to the legal profession and connect them with influential Charlotte and Mecklenburg County attorneys.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with lawyers, judges and law students to discuss their personal experiences and ask questions. In addition, students will be able to speak to representatives from minority bar associations, educational services, and scholarship programs.
Students will learn about the various stages on the path to becoming a lawyer through discussion panels on getting into law school, getting through law school, and the role legal professionals play in society.
The keynote address will be given by The Honorable Ty Hands, 26th Judicial District Court Judge. Representatives from all North and South Carolina law schools will be in attendance to provide admissions materials and information to the students.
