One of the most important events during the CIAA has nothing to do with basketball, and everything to do with team and the spirit of winning. Girl Talk Foundation, Inc. and Food Lion are teaming up again this year for the 4th Annual Food Lion CIAA Teen Summit.
During the summit, teens will engage in an interactive workshop focused on college readiness. This year’s theme is “The Real World: My Life After High School”. Millette Granville, Director of Diversity at Food Lion a subsidiary of Delhaize America states “Food Lion is proud to partner with Girl Talk Foundation for the 2014 CIAA Teen Summit. Preparing our teenagers for the next big step in their lives will be critical to their success. The Teen Summit will focus on getting the students college ready. Together we are committed to engaging, preparing, and motivating our young people to reach their full potential.”
Attendees will have an opportunity to speak one-on-one with representatives from various colleges including Johnson C. Smith University, Winston-Salem State University and Central Piedmont Community College. The summit will also include a step team exhibition, a dance contest, a fitness challenge and a live D.J. Teens will compete for prizes including a Kindle fire, an iPad shuffle and other exciting items.
