Established in 1965, Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont(GISP) is one of the 165 independent Goodwill organizations in the United States and around the world. The GISP has stores in 18 countries throughout North and South Carolina, including, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Gaston, Lancaster, Lincoln, Union and York.
Goodwill’s Occupational Skills Training program has been running for over 20 years and helps around 2,000 people learn employable skills for a particular job market. The program had courses like; Banking and Customer Service, Construction, Hospitality & Tourism, and Forklift/ OSHA 10 Training. The Mecklenbur office is located in the west Charlotte area on Freedom Drive.
Employment Skills Training assess abilities and job interest to prepare applicants for the workforce. Job hunting skills such as resume writing and cover letter writing are taught.
