Jeremy Bishop

After 29-year-old Che Cadfi Matoorah’s death, police charged Jeremy Rossco Bishop with murder in a shooting that occurred three weeks ago in the 2200 block of The Plaza Road in the Eastway Division.

According to police, officers responded to a call for service around 1:12 a.m. on July 4. When they arrived on the scene police found Matoorah suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Matoorah was transported to Carolinas Medical Center.

Bishop and Matoorah got into an argument prior to the shooting, police said, and did not know each other beforehand.

Police said evidence gathered during the investigation led them to name Bishop as a suspect in this case.

Anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-TIPS or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
