Senator Richard Burr.
Elected in 2005 and member of the Republican Party, Senator Burr serves as the senior United States Senator from North Carolina. In 2009, Senator Burr was elected to serve as Chief Deputy Whip in the 111th Congress. Senator Burr represented North Carolina’s 5th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 2005. In 1978, he received a B.A. from Wake Forest University. Burr serves on various committees such as the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Finance, and the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
