Howard, a Democrat, was elected in 2009 and is serving his second term on Council. Howard, a native Charlottean, is Chair of the Transportation & Planning Committee and is a member of the Economic Development, Environment, and Council-Manager Relations Committees. He is also the Council Representative for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Development Corporation and a council representative for the Metropolitan Planning Organization. A graduate of UNC Charlotte, Howard has served as Vice President of Special Projects and Community Affairs of The Housing Partnership since 1997.
