Northwest School of the Arts (NWSA) first performed “The Color Purple” in September 2012. When scouts from the International Thespian Festival saw the results, they invited the cast to perform in Nebraska. NWSA is the second school to perform the musical. No North Carolina school has been invited to the festival in 33 years.
