Mr. Donald Vernard Porter, of Charlotte, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013. He was 66 years old.
His memory will be cherished by Irene Porter, his loving wife of 36 years; two daughters, Degwanda and Utocqua; three grandchildren, Aniah, Aaden and Caliegh; three sisters, Viveca Jackson, Karen Howard and W. Regina Porter; two brothers, Karl Porter and Tard Porter and his mother-in-law, Ida Green.
His family gives special thanks to his previous employers, Mr. and Mrs. Edison Foard and Mr. and Mrs. Penn Cassels for welcoming him with open arms and making him feel like family.
His family will hold visitation on Wednesday, June 5 at noon at Parkwood CME Church. A homecoming service will follow at 1 p.m. Mr. Porter’s final resting place will be at Sharon Memorial Park.
Alexander Funeral Home is serving the family.
