Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have arrested a man suspected of breaking and entering a home in north Charlotte.

Police identified 27-year-old Marc Robert Kirkpatrick as the man who broke into a house in the 600 block of Emerald Cove Drive on Thursday.

According to a police report, the victim stated a man rang the doorbell of her home at 9:19 a.m. and when she did not answer he forced his way into the back.

When he heard the victim’s voice he fled the scene in a vehicle, said police.

Officers later spotted the suspect vehicle. After a traffic stop and search they found the victim’s stolen property in the car, said police.

Kirkpatrick has been charged with possession of stolen property and driving while license revoked.

Police said additional charges are pending.
