Police accused teenage brothers of robbing a man at gunpoint on Friday night in east Charlotte.
Rico Billings, 19, and Tyler Billings, 16, have been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit armed robbery with a dangerous weapon.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police, officers responded to a call for service around 10 p.m. at the 2400 block of Dunlavin Way.
The victim told police he was approached by two men at gunpoint demanding his wallet and cell phone. The victim said when he dropped to the ground the suspects began kicking him, removed his wallet and fled the scene on foot.
A short time later officers spotted two suspects who matched the descriptions given by the victim. Enough evidence was gathered during the investigation to identify the Billings brothers as suspects involved in the robbery, said police.
