A probation officer was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman on probation that he was supervising.
David Francis, 48, has been charged with second-degree sex offense, sexual activity by a custodian and sexual battery.
A police report said the N.C. Attorney General’s office sent a notice on Monday to Charlotte detectives about the incident.
According to police, the victim, who is on probation, said she went to meet with Francis at his office at 5701 Executive Center Drive on Feb. 28. The victim said that during the meeting Francis sexually assaulted her.
Francis voluntarily went to the Law Enforcement Center to speak with detectives, police said.
As of Tuesday afternoon he was in Mecklenburg jail.
