A bicyclist was killed in northeast Charlotte on Monday morning after he darted in front of a freightliner truck.
Witnesses told police that 47-year-old Woodrow Franklin Jr. was biking down 400 Jordan Place when he made a sudden left turn from the right edge of the lane and pulled out in front of a freightliner.
Jeffrey Leonard Miller, 41, was the driver and travelling in the same direction when he struck Franklin, according to a police report.
Paramedics transported Franklin to Carolinas Medical Center-Main where he later died due to his injuries.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Crash Investigation Unit is investigating this incident.
