Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have accused three men of attempting to rob a man at gunpoint in south Charlotte.
Police charged Vincent Lee Price, 18, Jarnell Ladarius-Mariano Ervin, 18, and Yahdan Taigee Wheeler, 20, with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy. They also have additional charges pending.
According to a police report, two men stepped out of a vehicle and approached the victim while he was walking on Scaleybark Road on Monday evening.
The victim said one suspect threw him on the ground and kicked him while another pointed a black handgun at him and demanded money.
After a few cars passed by, the suspects became afraid they had been spotted and returned to their vehicle to flee the scene, said the victim.
Officers say they saw the suspect’s vehicle a short time later and performed a traffic stop. Police said the occupants in the vehicle matched the descriptions given by the victim and all three suspects were arrested.
After being interviewed by detectives, police believe the three suspects are connected to two separate robbery incidents.
