Police responded to a call for assault with a deadly weapon with injuries on Sunday afternoon in west Charlotte.
According to a police report, officers arrived on the scene to find Keith R. Houston suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to CMC-Main and later pronounced dead.
Detectives with the Homicide Unit are canvassing the neighborhood hoping to find witnesses to the incident.
