Mrs. Levera Elaine Pearson Wynn, died Dec. 23, in Huntersville, NC.
She was born Dec. 17, 1916, in Laurens County, Ga., to the late Henry and Estelle Pearson. She received her bachelor’s in home economics from Fort Valley State College in 1943, and married the late Leroy Wynn in 1945. She worked for Mecklenburg County as a homemaking education supervisor in Fairview Homes, and in 1980 was named Mecklenburg County Employee of the Year.
She joined St. Phillip Baptist Church in 1949 when she and her husband moved to Huntersville and was a faithful member until her death. Mrs. Wynn was predeceased by her husband, Leroy, and her daughter, Cheryl Smith. She is survived by daughters, Varona L. Wynn of Huntersville; Fatrice and husband Walter Currie of Fayetteville; and Cassandra Wynn of Huntersville; grandsons, Jonathan Wynn Smith of Maryland; and Ebun Wynn of Huntersville.
The funeral will take place at 1 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2012, at St. Phillip Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 27, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
In Mrs. Wynn’s memory, donations can be given to the Huntersville Community Bible Club.
