Michelle Obama will arrive in Charlotte on Monday and speak at the opening evening of the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday, according to a schedule released Sunday.

That schedule does not include an appearance at the CarolinaFest taking place on Tryon Street Monday afternoon and evening.

The first lady’s speech is scheduled for 10:35 p.m. Tuesday at Time Warner Cable Arena.

On Wednesday, she is slated to speak to the African American and Hispanic caucuses and at a luncheon honoring lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered elected officials at the Marriott City Center.

Thursday’s schedule calls for her to join Jill Biden for a USO service project at the Convention Center, followed by a joint speaking appearance at the women’s caucus. She will join President Barack Obama at the Bank of America Stadium Thursday night, where he will accept the nomination for re-election.

Michelle Obama’s staff would not say where she will stay while she’s in Charlotte.
