In order to train as many people as possible in hands-only CPR and to debunk myths that often keep bystanders from responding in critical situations, the American Heart Association has teamed up with Duke Energy, Cabarrus County EMS and Medic of Mecklenburg County to hold a public demonstration.
On Friday, August 3, the AHA and Cabarrus County EMS will be in front of the Bass Pro Shops at Concord Mills during the annual “Tax-free” weekend from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. teaching shoppers and their families the basic two requirements for hands-only CPR — No. 1: Call 911; and No. 2: Push hard and fast in the center of the chest until help arrives.
This event is free, and staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance to those who want to learn this life-saving skill.
