The Know Your Plate project is an innovative and creative approach for promoting awareness of obesity among the African American community in Charlotte. The project seeks to use art and technology to promote eating a balanced diet.
The Know Your Plate project is a cross disciplinary project in which JCSU’s students from the computer sciences, communication arts, and visuals arts program developed an interactive game, a skit, and a poster session to promote awareness of obesity using resources from the National Library of Medicines/MedlinePlus online collection.
