The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will hold an information session for business owners interested in contracts related to the LYNX Blue Line light rail extension project.
The “Meet the Primes Information Session” is scheduled for Wednesday, May 23, from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at Extravaganza Depot (1610 North Tryon St.). During this free session, CATS staff will provide an overview of the project and information regarding the Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) programs.
The Blue Line extension recently received a State Full Funding Grant Agreement that provides 25 percent of the project funding. This 9.4-mile alignment will run from uptown Charlotte to the UNC Charlotte campus. Construction of the $1.16 billion project is scheduled to begin in 2013.
This session will provide a networking opportunity for minority, woman owned and small businesses to meet face to face with prime contractors in the areas of construction, engineering, and design.
