You survived Day 1 (Thursday) of CIAA. Now, how do you follow it up on Friday?
Try spending some time with Michelle Obama, the First Lady of Fitness.
Obama will be at Time Warner Cable Arena today, along with N.C. Sen. Kay Hagen and a group of local school children, to promote her “Let’s Move” initiative to combat childhood obesity.
The event is scheduled to happen between the 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. games. If you plan to attend, get there early – we mean really, really early, like 11 a.m. early – because security will be tight.
Here are some of our other picks for today:
• Yolanda Adams is back, broadcasting her gospel show live from the convention center from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m. She’s bringing along award-winning gospel artists J. This is a FREE event.
• The CIAA Fan Experience kicks off at 5:15 p.m. in the Charlotte Convention Center Hall A/B. A fashion show is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., followed by music from national recording artists Avant (7:15), Omarion (8 p.m.) and Estelle (9 p.m.) These events are FREE.
• CIAA Step Show Throwdown at the Grady Cole Center (310 N. Kings Dr.) Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; show starts at 8 p.m. Tonight’s show will feature Greeks vs Greeks. Admission: $32.64. This event will sell out, so check for tickets before you go.
