NCNW is a Council of National African American Women’s organizations and community-based sections. Founded in 1935, the NCNW mission is to lead, develop and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities. Local members include, Karen Watson, Evelyn Hollis, Dorothy Brown-Jackson, Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board Member Velma Leake and Joyce Waddell.

The National Council of Negro Women, Inc-Charlotte Section “Harnessing the Past, Envisioning the Future”; it is a fundraising event to help us help out in the community and college.Special Guest Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Ronald L. Cater, President of Johnson C. Smith University.” The Women Who Rock” to an out standing member of our section. Mistress of Ceremonies Brigida Mack/Anchor/Reporter for WBTV News.
