The Urban League of Central Carolinas is holding an official book release reception and community dialogue for “Faces of Reality: State of Ethnic Charlotte.”

The book, which is the first of its kind to be released by the ULCC, examines disparities across five major ethnic groups in economics, education, health and social justice for Mecklenburg and eight other surrounding counties.

Originally funded by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, the book is part of the State of Ethnic Charlotte Movement, which consists of over 30 organizations and hundreds of citizens that met over the course of a year to develop policy solutions for communities facing disparities.

Following the reception, a community dialogue will be held around the book. There will also be a question and answer period and book signing for those who wish to purchase a copy of the book, which retails for $19.99.
