The Thomasboro Neighborhood Association is throwing its annual Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Thomasboro Church of Christ, 216 Bradford Drive, in Charlotte.
Students will receive free school supplies. Also free will be health screenings, entertainment, food and clothing giveaways. Community members will kick off the celebration at 10:30 a.m. with a parade from Thomasboro Elementary School to the church. About 400 people are expected to attend.
Sponsors of this year’s celebration include Hands on Charlotte, the American Red Cross and St. Luke Catholic Church of Mint Hill.
Donations of school supplies, book bags and bottled water are being solicited.
