Friendship Missionary Baptist Church will host an event to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
“In Remembrance: A 9.11 Memorial” will be a collaboration between Carolina Voices, Myers Park Baptist Church, Mecklenburg Ministries and Friendship Missionary Baptist and will combine music, poetry and prose. A collection will be taken during the event with proceeds benefitting the American Red Cross.
Radio personality Ramona Holloway from the “Matt & Ramona Show” will emcee the event.
Messages of hope will be delivered by interfaith dignitaries, including Mecklenburg Commissioners Chair Jennifer Roberts, Rabbi Judy Schindler of Temple Beth El and the Rev. Clifford Jones of Friendship Missionary Baptist.
