Mrs. Alice McFadden Miller, 87 of Rock Hill, went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2011.
Ms. Miller was born on February 14, 1924 to Ms. Edna McFadden and was the widower of the late Mr. Richard C. Miller, Sr.
She attended school in York County and was preceded in death by one
brother, Ross McFadden, and one daughter, Dorothy Jean Miller.
“Mother,” as she was fondly called, was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and was the creator of Sunday family dinners for her family, friends and the community because everybody was invited to dinner at “Mother’s House.”
Mrs. Miller, a devoted Christian Lady, was a life – long member of China Grove A. M. E. Zion Church in Rock Hill. She served for many years as Mother of the deaconess board, a class leader, missionary, and was beloved by many ministers of the church.
Mrs. Miller leaves to cherish in loving memory two daughters, Frances M. Young and her husband, Aaron of Rock Hill, and Iris M. Battle and her husband, George, Jr. of Davidson; five sons, Paul McFadden, his wife Johnnie, Richard Miller, his wife Bobbie, Edwin Miller, his wife Mary, Clem Miller, his Linnie, and Eric Miller all of Rock Hill; one special daughter, Elizabeth Lee of Rock Hill; one brother, Paul McFadden of Rock Hill; two sisters-in-law, Edmonia M. McFadden and Willie A. Miller, both of Rock Hill,; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Pineville A. M. E. Zion Church in Rock Hill. The visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
