Hiram Loel Watkins of Charlotte, NC, died suddenly on Friday December 10, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center-University. He was 41 years old.
The beloved son of Mary Catherine and Herbert L. Watkins was born February 21, 1969, in Binghamton, New York. Having attended the University of Rochester, Hiram held a number of staff and management positions in sales, marketing and distribution services.
Always very positive, outgoing and confident, he cultivated several talents and skills. Self-taught in the culinary arts, he enjoyed success as sous-chef in Phoenix, AZ, professional caterer and private chef. Hiram was currently a fulltime student at UNC Charlotte and had completed requirements for a degree in economics and was working to complete additional requirements for a degree in mathematics — both to have been conferred in May 2011.
He leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories: parents and his loving sister Mara Watkins of Atlanta, GA., a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends and classmates.
