Karla West Morgan, 54, of Charlotte, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010.
Karla was born in Anchorage, Alaska, on September 7, 1955 to the late John West Jr. and Mary West. She was happily married to her best friend, Ray Edward Morgan, for 34 years.
In addition to her husband, Ray Morgan, Karla is survived by her mother, Mary West McKinney of Charlotte; daughter Italia McKinney (Jameth) of Charlotte; son, Cameron Morgan (Jinelle) of Durham; two sisters, Donna M. West and Tanya West of Charlotte; granddaughter, Aria McKinney of Charlotte; and brother-in-law Donald Morgan (Brenda) of Charlotte.
Karla is a graduate of Myers Park High School and CPCC. She also studied at Troy Ann School of Modeling.
She was a faithful member of World of Faith Family Church. Karla was a multi-talented Christian lady who had the unique ability of ministering to mankind in all environments.
A service of celebration of Mrs. Morgan’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at World of Faith Family Church, 4124 Margaret Wallace Road, Matthews, NC, 28105. The Rev. Ed Adams will officiate. Family visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC, 28208. Body will lie in state at the church from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Alexander Funeral Home will assist the family with arrangements.
