It’s time for another Historic South End Gallery Crawl.
This month, 11 galleries will be taking part. The event begins Friday, Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. 
and ends at 9 p.m.
New gallery guides will be available in each location. Many local restaurants and clubs are close by, so make a night of it with dinner and entertainment.
Participating galleries are:
§ Art Charlotte – “Coming Home”, a solo exhibition of original oil paintings by a marginal artist from Urban Ministry Center’s Artworks945 program. The talented artist, who has chosen to remain anonymous, is working to establish permanent housing.
§ Bead Me Gallery – Includes jewelry art by Linda Minor, multimedia, photography, wooden vessels, and sketching by local artist.
§ The Camden Art Market – Meet and view local color in the relaxed atmosphere of Charlotte Trolley’s family friendly Powerhouse Museum.
§ Carolina Clay Connection – We will be doing a pottery demo from 6-8 and anyone can try their hand at making a pot on the potter’s wheel. There is no charge for this.
§ Charlotte Art League – Presents “Color Me Green” artistics interpretations of the meaning of “green”. Artists were given free rein to interpret the question “What does ‘Green’ mean to you?” in very personal ways, with results ranging from literal, limited-palette compositions to provocative emotional statements about current environmental news.
§ Charlotte NC Tours – Is hosting a Jazz Gallery with Mekole Wells
§ Ciel Gallery – All art will be discounted 10%-30% for our Hot Flash sale.
§ Coffey and Thompson – Come visit our Outdoor and Wildlife Art Gallery as well as our Contemporary and Traditional Galleries.
§ Elder Gallery – Presents North Meets South, an exhibition that brings together the gritty, energetic qualities of New York City with the subtle, quirkiness of Southern life. During the month of August the gallery will display the abstract paintings of New York artist, Ralph Turturro, with those of South Carolina artist, David Benson..
§ Hacker Studio Gallery – Presents “Black, White & Splashes”. Come join us for an evening of Art, Conversation, & Fun! Wear something Black & White for an additional discount!
§ Lark & Key Gallery – presents Embodied Aug 6th – Sept 25th. Reception Friday, Aug 6th from 6-9 p.m.
