The oldest African American Boy Scout troop in Mecklenburg County — First Baptist Church-West Troop 62 — is sponsoring a flapjack breakfast at Applebee’s Restaurant (University area) to send 10 boys to Camp Grimes for a week.

The Scouts will earn badges they need to reach the next rank. The troop has four who are on track to achieve Eagle Scout — the highest rank possible. The goal is to send all 10 Scouts to the camp.

IF YOU WANT TO GO:
Date: Saturday, June 12
Time: 7 a.m. – 10 a.m.
Location: Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar (8700 JW Clay Blvd.)
