On Sunday, Diane von Furstenberg’s fall 2010 collection “Metamorphosis” didn’t disappoint.
The
designer celebrated being masculine and feminine. In her show’s notes,
she said: “I always wanted to live a man’s life in a woman’s body.”
I absolutely loved her take on wearing a beautiful dress with an oversized sweater coat or a cardigan sweater.
What woman doesn’t want to look sexy and stay warm?
Von
Furstenburg collection said you can be both, and she didn’t shy away
from using color, texture and patterns to accentuate her pieces.
Favorite
picks – a multi-knit coat, slate crepe dress and slate crepe blouse (shown in photo); a
metallic tweed blazer with a cream organza dress; and a hunter green
merino wool knit sweater and a chiffon dress.
Celeb
sightings: Vogue Editor and Chief, Anna Wintour; stylist/designer
Patricia Fields, Project Runways Tim Gunn, Constance White, Host
Charlie Rose, Bethann Hardison, Stylist Rachel Zoe & sidekick Brad,
and Vogues Andre Leon Talley.
Designer Tony Cohen’s Fall 2010
collection was a dull take on fall. Most of the dresses, jackets and
pants he sent down the runway were in black, which translates to boring
and blah. I wasn’t impressed.
