Antoine Williams is a young African American artist whose work has a
message — it’s a mix of everyday life, hip-hop culture and social and
political commentary.

As co-founder of the art group “God
City,” he is on a mission to share the group’s unique style with people
in the Qcity. He says art should be for everyone, not just a select
few.

Williams specializes in acrylic on canvas and mix media. He has work on display in the Mint Museum.

My
favorite piece is titled “Game Theory” (48″x39″ $1,000), pictured
above. Williams said the piece was inspired by individuals who muster
the courage to stand up for their beliefs, even when those beliefs
aren’t popular.

“Although one may be ostracized and pushed to the margins,” he says, “there is relief that you are on the right side of history.
