Charlotte firefighters on Tuesday recovered the body of 61-year-old Barbara Ann Springs, .png)
who went missing from her west Charlotte home six days earlier.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are awaiting the results of an autopsy but found no immediate indication of foul play, a CMPD spokesman said.
Rescue workers and volunteers had searched extensively over several days to find Springs. Her body was found along Irwin Creek about seven miles from her home, the CMPD spokesman said.
