Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for a man (photos below) wanted in connection with two robbery-assaults at bank drop boxes Sunday.
In the first incident, a suspect described as a black male between the ages of 32-38, approximately 5’8″ and weighting 170 pounds approached a woman depositing money at a Wachovia drop box at 712 Tyvola Road. The suspect hit the victim several times in the back of the head with an unknown object, knocking her to the ground. He took the deposit bag and fled.
About 90 minutes later, police say, the suspect attacked another woman at a Wachovia drop box at 1500 Westinghouse Boulevard. Again, the suspect approached the victim from behind and struck her in the head. He then took the deposit bag and fled.
In each case the victims were depositing money for Petro Express.
CMPD Robbery Unit is requesting the assistance from the public. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a robbery detective.
